2014 NH Rafting Season looks great

2014 Season starts with good weather and high flows

2014 look like a great one for River Rafting on the Androscoggin River.  Although the weather has been generally great it has been punctuated by very heavy thunderstorm over the 1046 square mile watershed which keeps the storage lakes near brimming. Since regulation keep Umbagog Lake levels at one height during Loon nesting season a lot of water is spilled into the Androscoggin keeping flows higher than normal.

The paddling trips above the Dam have been eventful with a couple of Loon’s nests clearly visible which is unusual. My last trip there was quite a pitched battle between a nesting loon and a Bald Eagle.

This year Tubing further down the River where it is a very low class 11 has become popular. Wayside Rapid to Brown Co. Bridge has been a favorite.

The Northern Waters Kayak School has been upgraded with two new ACA certified instructors’ Brad and Alex.

We have great programs for Family Rafting, Canoe and Kayak trips in the wildlife refuge, wilderness campsites throughout and a world Class Kayak school.

Come join us Conditions at Northern Waters Outfitters are great and the weather has been cooperative. The best Rafting NH has to offer.
